Colorado Lagoon is the second step towards healing

Greg FudererLONG BEACH, Calif. – Officials of the City of Long Beach, announced the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a number of other agencies and support groups to complete the second phase of the restoration of Colorado Lagoon during a press conference held on August 23 along the banks of the historic restoration Gewässers.Die the lagoon consists of three phases. The first elimination of the flow of material and waste contaminated in the lagoon was in 2010, finished capturing the city gates and other mechanical structures and installed runoff directly. The third and final phase, which should happen in the next five years is to build a supply of free water between the lagoon and the adjacent sea Park Stadium, and the Pacific Ocean to a more natural tidal wiederherzustellen.Die just completed phase removed contaminated sediments of the lagoon banks and re-profiled with unterstützen.Vertreter Tide of the city is the 25th public ceremony in August to commemorate the reopening of the lagoon.
